Privacy Policy

This page describes the intended data handling of the current OnStudy application. Update this policy before public release if the application's data flows change.

1. Overview

OnStudy is a study workspace that can organize local documents, create quizzes and flashcards, display study statistics, synchronize selected resources with Google Drive and optionally use an AI provider for study tools.

2. Google account and Google Drive data

If you choose to connect Google Drive, OnStudy uses Google OAuth to request the permissions necessary to provide the Drive features you explicitly use. OnStudy is designed around limited access to app-created, selected, opened or explicitly shared resources rather than unrestricted browsing of a user's entire Drive.

Google data may be used to create or synchronize OnStudy folders and documents, display supported Drive items, and perform sharing actions requested by the user.

3. Local application data

Study data such as local workspaces, quiz attempts, flashcard review state, notes and application preferences may be stored locally on the device unless a feature explicitly synchronizes or shares that information.

4. AI features

When an AI-assisted feature is explicitly used, relevant document content or extracted text may be sent to the AI provider configured for OnStudy so that the requested output can be generated, such as a quiz, flashcards, explanation or summary. AI processing is not required for simple structured imports.

5. Email notifications

If email notification features are enabled, OnStudy may use the email address supplied through the relevant account or sharing action to send verification, sign-in or sharing notifications.

6. Sharing

When you explicitly share a supported workspace, folder or Drive item, the selected recipient and permission settings are used to perform that sharing action.

7. Data sale and advertising

OnStudy does not sell Google user data or use Google user data for targeted advertising.

8. Security

Authentication tokens and other secrets should be stored using platform-appropriate secure storage. Production deployments should keep service credentials and API secrets on protected server-side infrastructure rather than hardcoding them into distributed applications.

9. Your choices

You can disconnect Google Drive from OnStudy and revoke OnStudy's Google account access through your Google Account security settings. Local OnStudy data can be removed using the application's available deletion features.

10. Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated as OnStudy develops. Material changes should be reflected on this page before affected functionality is released publicly.
